Liverpool’s Raul Meireles Sidelined Due to Collarbone Injury

Andy Carroll scored a goal for the Reds in their victory over Exeter,, but Carroll would never have entered the game if Raul Meireles hadn't gotten injured early on.

The midfielder fell less than halfway through the game and didn't return. Liverpool's manager Kenny Dalglish said Meireles injured his collarbone and will be out for a couple of weeks, ESPN.com reports.

"I've not got a medical term for it. He just damaged his collarbone. He just fell on it," Dalglish told Sky Sports. "It's disappointing. It doesn't matter if he's been playing good, bad or indifferent, it's still disappointing to pick up such an innocuous thing. We are disappointed. But I'm sure Raul is the most disappointed person."

In the two games that Meireles has appeared in, he has taken one shot and recorded one assist.
