Relive the Moment: Micky Ward Defeats Arturo Gatti in First of Trilogy of Epic Fights

It is the stuff movies are made of — literally. Lowell's own Micky Ward, an Irish-American who rose to boxing fame for his grit and determination, faced off with Arturo Gatti on May 18, 2002 in the first of three epic fights between the boxers, who exchanged blow after blow but refused to admit defeat.
