Report: Matt Light Agrees to Two-Year Deal With Patriots

One of the last remaining questions about the Patriots' offseason decisions was answered on Sunday night, when free agent tackle Matt Light agreed to a two-year deal to stay in New England, according to The Boston Globe.

The report did not specify the financial terms, though he'll likely see a salary lower than the $4.5 million he's been making annually since 2006.

Light's return solidifies the offensive line and will allow rookie Nate Solder — who remains unsigned – to be eased into action, rather than thrust into perhaps the most important position on the field — protecting Tom Brady's blind side. Light likely remains atop the depth chart at left tackle, while Sebastian Vollmer can move from the right side to the left side if needed.

Light is a three-time Super Bowl champion and three-time Pro Bowler (2006, '07, '10).
