Toms River, New Jersey Has Powerful Offense Despite Making First East Region Appearance

Toms River, N.J. heads to the East Regional ready to make its first appearance — with perhaps the most powerful offense in the region.

The team averaged 12 runs per game during its tournament run, and scored more than 10 runs in 12 of 16 wins, including a remarkable stretch of six in a row. Against North Hunterdon, the team proved it could win close games as well, pulling off three-run and one-run victories to advance to the next round.

The defense has been a bright spot for the squad, playing behind a pitching staff that has allowed less than four runs per game.
