Dolphins Pumping Noise Into Practice to Prepare for Patriots Fans Invading Miami

It's hard being a Miami Dolphins fan these days.

For one, your team isn't all that great, as the Fins have made the playoffs just once since 2002, going 64-80 in that time. Second, the franchise has seemingly become more interested in celebrity owners than winning Super Bowls. Third, you have to look at Tony Sparano's mustache all the time. Gross.

And now, there's this.

The Dolphins apparently wanted to prepare for the throngs of Patriots fans that will almost certainly flood Sun Life Stadium on Monday night when New England visits Miami for the season opener, so they pumped in artificial noise at practice to get a feel for what to expect.

Reminder: This is a home game for the Dolphins.

Now, it's important to remember the Dolphins were 1-7 at home last year and that the hometown fans booed quarterback Chad Henne and hurt his feelings in camp this summer and that the Dolphins were 26th (90.1 percent) in attendance last year. But still, when you have to prepare for loud fans of teams based 1,471 miles away, that's just not good. Not good at all.

"One of the reasons we do it here is we are in South Florida and the New England teams and New York teams, there's a a lot of fans out here," Sparano said, according to Dave Hyde of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. "They have a good fan base themselves. Somehow they make their way into our stadium."

Into their stadium for the game and into their coach's head before it. That certainly doesn't bode well for Fins fans.
