J.D. Drew’s Recovery Slowed by Neck Pain

BOSTON — J.D. Drew has suffered another setback in his attempt to get back on the field.

Drew, who first went on the disabled list in July with a left shoulder impingement, suffered a fracture in one of his fingers during his rehab stint in the minors earlier this month. Now, just as he was getting close to taking hacks again, Drew has a sore neck.

Terry Francona did not elaborate more than that, only calling it "a little bit of a neck problem." Drew was on the field shagging flies during batting practice Friday afternoon.
