Mike Aviles has been one of the hottest Red Sox hitters as of late as he continues to replace Kevin Youkilis in the Boston lineup. He'll be in the lineup again on Wednesday night, hitting second against the Baltimore Orioles.
Aviles is hitting .409 (9-for-22) on the final Red Sox homestand of the year, and he has multiple hits in three of his last four starts. He'll be sandwiched by Jacoby Ellsbury at the top and Adrian Gonzalez in the three-hole on Wednesday against Baltimore starter Tommy Hunter.
Ellsbury, who has been another bright spot in an otherwise forgettable homestand, looks to continue a torrid pace. He's hit .350 (14-for-40) on the homestand. Ellsbury also carries a 32-game hitting streak in games with Baltimore into the series finale, the longest streak ever recorded against Baltimore.
Carl Crawford drops down a spot in the order to the seven-hole. He, however, does have the most hits of anyone on the Red Sox roster against Hunter with four career hits and an RBI against him.
Josh Beckett gets the ball for the Red Sox in the final home game of the regular season.
