Celtics Paul Pierce, John Havlicek, Larry Bird in FOX Sports’ Top 10 Small Forwards in NBA History

On Tuesday, FOX Sports released its rankings of the Top 10 small forwards in NBA history. It comes as no surprise that the Celtics were represented by three players.

Paul Pierce, John Havlicek and Larry Bird were ranked 10th, third and first, respectively, and were ranked alongside seven other stars.

In 13 seasons with the Celtics, Pierce is third on the team's all-time scoring list, behind Havlicek and Bird, and is averaging 22.2 points per game over his career. Pierce was also the Finals MVP during the Celtics' title run in 2008.

Havlicek, popularly referred to as "Hondo," won eight championships and made 11 All-NBA first or second teams during his 17 seasons with the Celtics. With Bill Russell, Bob Cousy and Havlicek, the Celtics were the most dominant team in the '60s and remained so throughout the '70s, even after Russell and Cousy retired.

The Celtics-Lakers rivalry during the '80s was one of the best periods in the NBA, with Magic Johnson and Bird as the centerpieces. Bird won three titles and three straight MVPs during his 13-year tenure and is widely considered one of the best shooters to the play the game.

Julius Erving, better known as "Dr. J," was ranked second. Elgin Baylor and LeBron James round out the top five.

Scottie Pippen was ranked sixth, followed by James Worthy, Rick Barry and Dominique Wilkins.
