Report: Chris Johnson, Titans Agree on Four-Year, $53.5 Million Contract Extension

The Chris Johnson holdout is over.

The running back agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Titans worth $53.5 million, according to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean.

Wyatt added that the four years are being added on to the two years for which he was previously under contract, thereby extending his contract through the 2016 season.

On Wednesday, Johnson caused a stir on Twitter with his remarks toward fans who were unhappy with his holdout.

"Can these fake Titan fans [shut up] on my timeline I don't have a regular job so don't compare me to you and I can care less if uthink I'm greedy," Johnson wrote.

Johnson has just 10 days to get back up to speed with the Titans' offense, as the season opener is Sunday, Sept. 11.
