Report: Kobe Bryant Offered $800,000 to Play Three Games for Virtus Bologna of Italian League Kobe Bryant makes a ton of money in the NBA — he’s due $90 million in the next three seasons — but even he might be blown away by a reported offer from an Italian team.

The blog “I Am A GM” tracked down the news that Italian basketball team Virtus Bologna offered Bryant roughly $800,000 after taxes to play in the three games. It comes out, according to sportando.net, to somewhere between $550,000 and $600,000 per game, before taxes.

That’s a lot of pizza dough.

Even with his newest monster contract, Bryant would earn “only” $365,853 per game in the U.S. Last season, the poor guy struggled with the salary of just $302,515 per game, so this Italian opportunity should catch his attention.

If the NBA lockout does continue deep into the NBA season, Bryant would have incentive to play in Italy, as he spent much of his youth growing up in the country.
