Toronto Blue Jays Predict World Series Title, Announce 2012 As 'Championship Season' It looks like there's no reason to play baseball next year. The Toronto Blue Jays have already called dibs on a World Series title.

The Blue Jays released their schedule for the 2012 season on their website Wednesday, but they made careful note to declare that it will be the "2012 Championship Season."

Sure, it will be a championship season — just probably not for the Blue Jays.

It's a pretty bold statement coming from a team that hasn't been to the postseason since 1993 and has finished fourth in the division for three — going on four — years in a row.

Sure, Jose Bautista is an MVP candidate and they have some strong prospects on the way including Brett Lawrie, but championship? One step at a time, Toronto.

The Blue Jays will start their World Series campaign in Cleveland on Opening Day and will host the Red Sox at their home opener on April 9.
