And despite the lavish parties and being the talk of the town, that's a great thing for the Black and Gold.
After a three-game homestand to open the season as defending champs, the B's will head down to Carolina to take on the Hurricanes on Wednesday before hitting the Windy City to take on the 2009-10 champion Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.
But it's not just Monday's loss that the Bruins are eager to escape — it's the distractions that have come with Lord Stanley.
"As you know at home there's always distractions, and there [are this year]," head coach Claude Julien told the media after the 1-0 loss. "It helps getting away to get us focused and being in the hotels and being around each other knowing there's a purpose of us being on the road."
It also gives the B's some time away from the hustle and bustle of Boston, where the squad can get to know some of the new faces.
"I think the road is a great time to get some bonding going and everyone is looking forward to that," explained second-year forward Tyler Seguin.
B's second-line center Patrice Bergeron echoes Seguin's belief in the road trip, putting a lot of stock in the importance of team bonding and falling into a typical hockey routine.
"We need to be together as a team and go out there and we can't panic right now," he said. "It's going to be nice — not just to get away, but I guess, as a team, just to [hit the road] and it's going to be our first road trip so it's always nice to get up and [leave distractions]."
As for if a road trip can miraculous cure a team's struggles and get them on the winning track?
"I don't think it's going to hurt," Julien said, "but at the same time I really think it's more about our approach to the game that is going to make a difference."
