Ashton Kutcher Criticizes Joe Paterno’s Firing on Twitter, Then Deletes Tweet (Photo)

Everyone has an opinion on Joe Paterno right now and outside of Happy Valley, there’s a pretty general consensus — JoePa had to go.

Paterno was dismissed on Wednesday night after many called for him to lose his job for his alleged role in the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse case.

One big-name sports fan sided with the longtime coach, however.

Actor Ashton Kutcher used Twitter late Wednesday night to defend Paterno and criticize the decision. But it’s OK, because he’s an Iowa Hawkeyes fan.

Unsurprisingly, Kutcher took a ton of heat, perhaps even more heat than he’s taken for his subpar movies and lackluster effort as Charlie Sheen‘s replacement on Two and a Half Men.

Not long after posting the tweet, Kutcher deleted it.

He then insisted that he hadn’t heard anything about the entire Penn State mess.

“This is an insane story, I just heard paterno was fired, getting the rest of the story now… Wow,” read one of his tweets not long after.

Perhaps he was just “punking” everyone.
