The BCS, once again, is officially a mess.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys went into Iowa State on Friday night as the No. 2 team in the country as four-touchdown favorites. They left with a loss and are certain drop in both the national rankings and the BCS standings.

The Cowboys dropped a heartbreaking 37-31 double overtime loss to suffer their first loss of the season, joining a group of BCS teams with one loss.

Oklahoma State was in the driver's seat for a BCS national championship bid where they would have likely squared off with the nation's only other unbeaten, LSU.

Instead, the Cowboys are left with a group of one-loss teams to lobby for a chance in the national championship.

Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Stanford and Boise State are all one-loss teams that are also in the BCS top 10.
