Josh Reddick is spending part of his offseason in Taiwan playing for the MLB All-Stars in an exhibition series against the Chinese Taipei national team. On Thursday night, he had a game Red Sox fans will hope to see more of this upcoming season.
Reddick doubled, scored the winning run on a wild pitch and threw out a runner at the plate, contributing to the MLB All-Stars' 5-3 victory.
"There were a lot of flip-flips on the score, but luckily we got good pitching throughout the nine innings and our bats didn't stop," Reddick told MLB.com. "Luckily, we scored a few more runs than they did. That's the way the game goes."
Sounds pretty accurate, no matter what side of the International Date Line you're on.
On a less upbeat note, the runner that Reddick threw out at the plate broke his leg and dislocated his ankle on the play. Seattle Mariners minor leaguer Kuo Hui Lo was carried off on a stretcher and taken to a hospital for surgery.
