Report: Floyd Mayweather Jr. Targeting Bout, Possibly With Manny Pacquiao, on May 5

The fight of the century that once seemed destined to happen, only to later seem destined to never take place, is upon us once again.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is planning "the biggest fight possible" on May 5, with Manny Pacquiao expected to be the opponent, according to ESPN.com.

Pacquiao wasn't named specifically by Mayweather's adviser, Leonard Ellerbe, but he was referred to in a not-so-friendly manner.

"We're looking to make the biggest fight possible and everyone knows what that fight is, the little fella," Ellerbe told ESPN. "We're going to do everything in our power to make the biggest fight out there for the fans and we all know what the fight is."

The fight is planned to take place at the MGM Grand.

The two were supposed to fight in early 2010, but disagreements on drug testing protocol led to those plans crumbling. Mayweather, though, is facing a spat of legal charges, perhaps motivating him to provide boxing fans with the fight they'll pay top dollar to see.
