When Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski scores a touchdown, he not only makes sure everyone knows it, but that everyone feels it.
When he caught a 5-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter against the Jets on Sunday, Gronkowski was in the mood for his usual celebration. It may not be as elaborate as Aaron Hernandez‘s “make it rain” celebration, but it is just as fun to watch.
Gronkowski drew a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for spiking the ball close to a Jets defender, but will that stop him from sticking to his routine?
“No, I’m going to make them bigger,” he said, according to ESPN.com. “Bring down my spikes? Those weren’t even that big.”
Gronkowski spiked the ball into the ground so hard, it even prompted his quarterback to feel sorry for the ball.
“When Gronk scores — it was like his eighth touchdown of the year — he spikes the ball and he deflates the ball,” Tom Brady said. “I love that, because I like the deflated ball. But I feel bad for that football, because he puts everything he can into those spikes.”
