Gronkowski is grateful to play alongside Brady, and he expressed that sentiment on a conference call Wednesday.
"It's definitely crazy," said Gronkowski. "It's a dream come true, definitely, to even be playing in the NFL, and to be out here and playing with the Patriots and with this team, it can't be any better."
Historically speaking, he's absolutely correct. The tight end has pulled in more touchdowns in the first two years of his career (21) than any other tight end in NFL history. He has five more games to add to his four touchdown lead over runner-up Mike Ditka in that category.
It's uncertain whether Gronkowski would have been able to attain that record without Brady throwing him the ball.
"He throws great balls at all times, and it's awesome just playing with him."
That's accurate. When Brady is targeting Gronkowski, he's accurate, too. This season, the two have hooked up on 60 of 83 attempts for 864 yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions for a passer rating of 135.2.
