The Patriots activated defensive lineman Ron Brace from the physically unable to perform list Saturday, which makes him eligible to make his season debut Sunday against the Giants.
Brace was recovering from an elbow injury that ended his 2010 season.
"I feel good," Brace said Friday. "It's just a matter of if the coach thinks I'm ready. It's all up to him. I know he's going to make the best call for the team. All I can do is wait and see what they want me to do."
The Patriots had until Tuesday to make their decision on Brace, either activating him or placing him on injured reserve. Since they promoted him Saturday, it's a good indication they plan to play him against the Giants.
Brace can play any of the three positions on the three-man defensive line, and he's better suited to play on the interior in New England's four-man fronts, though he could play on the outside if necessary.
