Vote: Will Bobby Valentine or Gene Lamont Be Red Sox' Next Manager? As the third month without a manager draws nearer on the calendar, so too does a decision on who will fill the void left by Terry Francona.

Several reports indicate that the Red Sox have narrowed down their list of potential managers to Bobby Valentine and Gene Lamont.

Valentine, 61, last managed the Mets from 1996-2002, going 536-467 and leading the team to one National League pennant. Previously, he had managed the Rangers from 1985-1992, compiling a 581-605 record. After managing in Japan for several years, he became an analyst for ESPN.

Lamont, 64, is currently the Tigers' third base coach. He's been a manager twice before though, leading the White Sox to a 258-210 record from 1992-95 and the Pirates to a 295-352 record from 1997-2000.
