Was Justin Verlander the Right Choice as American League MVP?

The votes are in, and Justin Verlander is the American League MVP.

The Tigers’ righty finished with 13 of 28 first-place votes, well ahead of second-place finisher Jacoby Ellsbury, who received just four first-place votes.

Behind Ellsbury was Jose Bautista, thought by many to have the best statistical season in baseball. Bautista received five first-place votes but finished third overall, ahead of New York’s Curtis Granderson and Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera.

Verlander became the first starting pitcher to win the award in 25 years, leading many to question whether he should have won.

What do you think?
