UANL Tigres and Santos Laguna will meet Thursday and Sunday to decide Mexican soccer’s Apertura champion. Part of the colorful two-game spectacle will include both clubs’ beautiful cheerleaders.
This will be the first time these two clubs meet in the playoff finals, with each looking to win its fourth championship. Tigres is looking to end a 30-year title drought, while Santos last won in the 2010 Apertura. Tigres hasn’t even reached this stage of the tournament since 2003. It hopes to do the city of Monterrey proud by with a winning performance.
Mexican clubs often use cheerleaders to spice up the atmosphere at professional games. They take the field for pregame and halftime entertainment. Some may dance, some may shake, but they all represent their clubs as well as they can.
