The Patriots are playoff-bound and the Broncos may not be far behind, but Sunday’s game in Denver was all about Tom Brady versus Tim Tebow.
Tebow had provided magic for six straight weeks, and entered Sunday with a 7-1 record as a starter, leading some to believe that perhaps not even Tom Terrific could stop the Mile High Messiah’s amazing run.
But Brady showed why he’s one of the game’s greatest quarterbacks of all time on Sunday, guiding his squad to a 41-23 victory over the Tebow-led Broncos.
Then again, is that really that surprising? Brady has provided more than his fair share of magic over the years — magic that’s largely responsible for the Patriots’ three Super Bowl wins. Perhaps that’s why Brady was annointed “God’s nephew” on Saturday Night Live this past weekend.
Brady and Tebow have expressed respect for each other all along, though, so it was no surprise when the two came together for a chat at midfield following Sunday’s thriller.
But what exactly did Brady say to Tebow?
Did he offer to show Tebow his three Super Bowl rings? Maybe he told the second-year quarterback to watch film from the game to see how a real quarterback plays. Or perhaps Brady even invited him over for a “Tebrew.”
Most likely, it’s none of the above. But it’s fun to speculate.
