For €10 million ($12.7 million), the seller was willing to send the striker to any club that wants him. He was even willing to pay for shipping and throw in a free item -– Juventus defender Paolo DeCeglie.
But he would not offer any refund. The listing was quickly withdrawn by eBay, but not before 78 bids were lodged.
The much-maligned striker has failed to justify the £19 million ($29 million) fee that Juventus paid Palermo for his rights in 2008. The storied club has been trying to sell him for over a year, but his salary demands and lack of buyers has seen him remain on its books.
He has almost certainly played his last game for the league leader, as manager Antonio Conte has not selected him so far this season. Juventus is trying to move the Brazilian-born Italian international during the January transfer window. His contract expires in June, but he is reportedly free to join any club that will pay his hefty salary.
