Bruins’ Quest for Stanley Cup Repeat Will Need to Defy Recent History

Standing in second place in the Eastern Conference with 57 points, the Bruins are undoubtedly among the NHL's elite. Balanced scoring, two strong goaltenders and the ability to generate offensive and defensive pressure from all lines makes the Bruins a Stanley Cup contender yet again.

The one thing standing in the Bruins' way of a repeat might not be the Canucks, who are once again atop the league in points, or even the East-leading Rangers. History could be the Bruins' biggest foe. No team has won consecutive titles since the Red Wings in 1997-98.
