Jaromir Jagr Served as Rangers Captain Between Mark Messier and Chris Drury

Ryan Callahan serves as the Rangers' captain nowadays, and by donning the "C," he joins a very elite group.

Prior to Callahan, it was Chris Drury who held the role, starting in 2008. Drury decided to hang up the skates, though, which paved the way for the 26-year-old Callahan to take over. Perhaps the most recognizable captain in Rangers history is Mark Messier, who held the title from 1991-1997 and again from 2000-2004.

But who served as New York's captain in between the Messier Era and the Drury Era? Well, that would be Jaromir Jagr, who is now providing the Philadelphia Flyers with his services.

Jagr was the team's captain from 2006-2008, before he eventually left to play in Russia's KHL. Jagr even put together a 123-point season for the Rangers in 2005-06.
