Joe Paterno Talks With Washington Post in Interview That Will Run This Weekend

Ever since the Jerry Sandusky scandal broke, legendary Penn State football coach Joe Paterno has remained almost entirely quiet.

The 85-year-old, however, will offer his first extensive comments on the situation at Penn State in an interview with The Washington Post's Sally Jenkins. The interview will run on the Post's website at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The website says the interview will include Paterno's "comments on the Penn State scandal and its fallout."

Paterno was fired in November in the immediate wake of the scandal after nearly 62 full seasons as a member of the Penn State coaching staff and 46 years as head coach. That same month, news came out that Paterno had lung cancer.
