Report: Jeremy Lin Grateful For Yao Ming’s Mentoring, Says Two Talk After Every Game

About two weeks ago, as the New York Knicks were on the verge of a season collapse, third-string point guard Jeremy Lin, better known as "Linsanity," brought them back to life.

As the Knicks continue to thank Lin for their current five-game win streak, Lin prefers to thank his mentor, former All-Star center for the Houston Rockets Yao Ming. Although Yao retired prior to the start of this season, he and Lin still share a close friendship, the New York Daily News reports.

"I talk to Yao after every game," Lin told the Daily News. "He's taken me out to eat every time we're in the same city. He's obviously a role model and a big brother to me and we keep in touch all the time."

Plagued with injuries to their two star players Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire, Lin's success has come at an opportune time for the Knicks as they look to keep their "Lin-ning" streak alive Tuesday when they face off against the Toronto Raptors.
