Matt Light Recovering From Illness, Appreciates Well-Wishes From Osi UmenyioraINDIANAPOLIS — Patriots left tackle Matt Light met with the media Wednesday and said he's doing "well" after being holed up in the hotel Tuesday with an illness.

"I'm excited about practicing [Wednesday]," Light said. "We have a good game plan here. We are ready to go."

That ended a brief scare for the Patriots, as an illness was circulating around the team early this week. Light, linebacker Jerod Mayo and tackle Sebastian Vollmer were all sick Tuesday. All of them were accounted for Wednesday, which was a positive sign that they weren't quarantined from their teammates.

Light was also lifted by a message from Giants defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora, who has gotten into some shoving matches with the Patriots left tackle over the years. Umenyiora said Tuesday he hoped Light felt better, and it was passed along to Light during Wednesday's media session.

Consider him cured.

"He said that?" Light replied. Wow, I'm feeling better."
