David Stern and Metta World Peace do not always see eye-to-eye, but both may be wishing for an NBA Finals matchup made in league heaven.

World Peace (who is a must-follow on Twitter for NBA social-mediaphiles) expressed excitement about the impending return of Carmelo Anthony and the signing of J.R. Smith by the Knicks. He predicted the Knicks, currently in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, are now ticketed to the conference semifinals.

He also floated the possibility of a Lakers-Knicks showdown in the Finals. The suits in the NBA headquarters probably started salivating at the mere thought of teams from the two largest media markets facing off.
