Jose Reyes’ Cut Dreadlocks Sold on eBay, Proceeds Going to Make-A-Wish Foundation

An eBay auction for the signature dreadlocks of Jose Reyes have garnered $10,200 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida.

The Miami Marlins' newly acquired shortstop cut his hair in order to abide by team rules, and is giving the hair to a lucky fan. The locks, which had been cut last in 2007, were snipped on Feb. 3 at Jordan's Barber Shop in New York City.

This charitable gesture is a great start for Reyes in his new city. Though he didn't really have a choice in the matter of cutting his hair, the donation is a great way to make the best of the trim.
