Tyler Beede Makes Vanderbilt Rotation, Loses to Stanford in First Career Start (Video)

After making the first cycle through the rotation for the Vanderbilt Commodores, former Lawrence Academy pitcher Tyler Beede did not get that first win under his belt against No. 2 Stanford.

Stanford smoked the ball off of Beede for nine hits in 4 1/3 innings. He allowed nine runs, but only five of these were earned. The unsigned 2011 first-round draft pick only struck out two batters in this contest. Vanderbilt lost 9-5.

The Commodores are now 0-2 on the young season and look to avoid being swept by the Cardinals on Sunday, Feb.19

Beede’s reaction to his first season at Vanderbilt and making the rotation can be seen in the video below.
