Dustin Pedroia, who bats in the second slot for the Sox — which also happens to be where Crawford batted in nearly 600 games while with the Rays — opened up on the subject on Tuesday morning on Dennis and Callahan.
“He can hit wherever he wants, yeah,” Pedroia said. “If he wants to hit second, I’ve hit second for four or five years. If he wants to hit second, absolutely. It doesn’t matter to me, I don’t care.
“I’m going to hit wherever I hit,” he joked. “I rake anywhere.”
