Miami Heat Players Pose for Photo in Honor of Slain 17-Year-Old Trayvon Martin (Photo)

The recent death of Trayvon Martin, a high school student from Sanford, Fla., has become a major national topic over the past couple weeks.

Martin, 17, was killed on Feb. 26 by George Zimmerman, a self-proclaimed community watchman who said he shot Martin in self-defense — despite the fact that Martin wasn't found to be in possession of a weapon. Zimmerman was never charged for Martin's death, which has incited many people to call for justice.

On Friday, members of the Miami Heat joined the cause.

All-Star forward LeBron James jumped into the action on Twitter saying, "#WeAreTrayvonMartin #Hoodies #Stereotyped #WeWantJustice."

He also posted a photo that showed 13 members of the team wearing black hoodies and bowing their heads in honor of Martin.

Fellow All-Star Dwyane Wade also made a similar tweet earlier in the day and changed his avatar picture to one of him donning a black hoodie.
