Nick Punto Starting at Shortstop, David Ortiz Batting Cleanup for Daniel Bard’s First Start

The shuffling of the lineup continues. Two days after hitting leadoff, Nick Punto is penciled in the nine hole to give Mike Aviles a breather at shortstop after Aviles twisted his ankle.

In the process, Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine also flip-flopped designated hitter David Ortiz and third baseman Kevin Youkilis in the cleanup and fifth spots, a day after Youkilis hit fourth.
