Studio Technician (Seasonal)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Studio Operations Supervisor and under the direction of operations and production personnel, provide a wide range of technical assistance and support to Studio Operations, including but not limited to maintaining the studio areas for Watertown and remote locations, during the baseball season. This is a part-time temporary position: 15-25 hours/week; from March through September with the potential of extending through October.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•Daily studio set-up and preparation

•Operate studio cameras, and Stage Manage to support NESN’s live and taped productions

•Maintain the studio by keeping the area clean and tidy, and properly reporting equipment issues

•Follow safety protocol and procedures

•Assist with talent and guests
 
•Assist in camera and talent blocking
 
•Provide studio lighting support

•Participate in remote studio productions for stage and camera utility

•Assist in mic and IFB checks

•Drive to and from remote sites to transport gear

•Work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed

•Successfully complete other related tasks or duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS: 

•Experience in stage rigging, grip work and remote studio support

•Ability to lift up to 70 lbs

•Ability to climb ladders

•Good understanding of the technical execution of broadcast television

•Strong technical aptitude

•Strong organizational, and communication and interpersonal skills

•Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment

•Self starter who is eager to learn and grow

•Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic

•Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed

•Ability commit to working through the full season (Mar – Sept w/flexibility to work through Oct if needed)

•Must be a licensed driver and a safe driver
