Despite the absence of Capitals star Nicklas Backstrom, the Bruins could not take advantage in their Game 4 matchup with Washington. Instead, the Caps took a 2-1 decision and evened the series at two games apiece.
Now Boston knows that the series will go at least six games. With games on back-to-back days, which team moves on to the next round could not only be decided quickly, but it will also likely hinge on which team can maintain a high level of energy throughout the weekend.
Of course, there could always be a Game 7, bringing back memories of the Bruins' 2011 first-round matchup against the Canadiens. That series also went seven games and featured a great deal of close results, with each of the final four games being decided by a single goal.
Saturday will be the crucial game, giving one team an advantage before the quick turnaround to Sunday's game. But will there be a decision before the weekend is over?
