Adrian Gonzalez Back in Right Field as Jon Lester Takes Mound to Quiet Tigers

The Adrian Gonzalez experience in right field has been an overall success thus far for the Red Sox. And with manager Bobby Valentine trying his best to slowly work Ryan Sweeney, who had dealt with some post-concussion symptoms, back into the rotation, it looks like Gonzalez will be trekking back out to man his post near the bullpen again on Wednesday.

The start will be Gonzalez's eighth in the outfield this season. He'll be hitting third again in the batting order, just behind Mike Aviles who will be hitting in the second slot for the first time this year.

Boston batters are up against a tough challenge with Tigers lefty Drew Smyly (2-1, 3.14) taking the mound in hopes of pulling out Detroit's first win of this four-game set at Fenway. Jon Lester (3-4, 4.72) gets the start on the bump for the Red Sox, hoping to rebound from his rough outing against the Rays over the weekend.
