Hall of Famer George Brett Uses Twitter to Help Find His Lost Labradoodle

Remember when a “lost dog” poster stapled to a telephone pole was the most efficient way to find a missing pooch?

Hall of Fame third baseman and Kansas City Royals team president George Brett probably remembers those days, but he found an even more resourceful way to search for his lost labradoodle –- he took to Twitter.

When his dog Charlie went missing Wednesday, Brett appealed to the Twittersphere to help locate his runaway canine.

In his following Tweets, Brett offers a reward and attempts to get his hashtag, #FindCharlie, trending. After only having been a member of Twitter for a month, Brett already has over 11,000 followers, many of whom showed an outpouring of support for the former Royal and his dog.

To everyones delight — perhaps Brett’s most of all — Charlie was found safely at around 9 a.m. Wednesday. Brett showed his gratitude to followers by Tweeting out several personal thank yous.

Good thing Brett has just as much talent on the web as he did at the hot corner decades ago.
