Hrisan Dzheus, 5, Steals Show, Scores Goal Scores in Belarusian Professional Soccer Game (Video)What started off as a tribute to the retiring soccer player Vadim Evseev soon turned into an internet sensation. Five-year-old Hrisan Dzheus replaced Evseev in a game against grown-ups and even scored a goal against professional players.

It took place during a testimonial game for Evseev. He captains Belarusian club FC Torpedo Zhodino, but he was playing for a selection of Russian players against a “World 11” team that included Roberto Carlos.

Evseev was taken off in the 67th minute, and Dzheus replaced him. At one point in the game, the precociously talented kid dribbled through the defense, slotted the ball under the goalkeeper and smashed it into the back of the net.

Granted, not one of the adults on the field was trying to stop him. It could have been bad for their health, as Dzheus is the son of a director at a Russian children’s charity. The goal scorer was allowed to play as a way of thanking his father for his work.

Evseev, a 36-year-old former Russian international, is certainly basking in the limelight this one last time.
