Ryan Lochte Wears Shoes of Greek God After Beating Michael Phelps at Olympic Trials (Photo)

Ryan Lochte's arena may be the swimming pool, but given the chance, the Olympian probably wouldn't mind being the Greek god of shoes.

Lochte, who reportedly owns 130 pieces of footwear, broke out a special pair after winning the 400-meter individual medley at the Olympic trials on Monday night.

The shoes were equipped with wings, much like the Greek god Hermes was known to wear when doing his herding in mythology. One foot has the red and white stripes of the American flag, and the other has white stars on a blue background. Both are sparkling.

Lochte is fleet-footed in the pond, too — he beat eight-time gold medalist Michael Phelps with a 4-minute, 7.06-second swim Monday in the latest of their many meetups before the Summer Olympics. But it appears he also knows how to work the runway.

Check out the great shoes in the photo below.
