Trevor Bauer Throws Ball From First Major League Pitch to Wrong Dugout for Safekeeping (Video)

Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Trevor Bauer‘s first major league pitch will be one he never forgets — for all the wrong reasons.

There was nothing wrong with the pitch itself. In fact, it was a picture-perfect fastball that found the strike zone like any pitcher would dream about. What happened after the pitch though, was a different story.

Wanting to save the memory of his first pitch in the big leagues, Bauer tossed the ball to the dugout for safekeeping. Problem was, he tossed it to the dugout of the opposing Atlanta Braves.

The 21-year-old Bauer made his first major league start on Thursday after being called up following the injury of pitcher Joe Saunders. Bauer had a 2.79 ERA after spending time with the team’s Triple-A club in Reno.
