Vote: Which Boston Sports Franchise Has the Best Crop of Young Talent?

With the Celtics adding a young talent or two by way of the draft on Thursday night, Boston will be welcoming another promising youngster (or two) into the fold.

The city as a whole has been fortunate of late to continue stockpiling prospects, and this year has also been lucky to see two of those youngsters blossom into solid players in the pros today.

The C’s are certainly looking to get younger with the draft and hopefully gear up for another championship run. Judging by the surprising production they received from youngster Avery Bradley this year, fans have reason to be optimistic that whoever wears Celtics green out of this draft class will pan out as another piece to the puzzle.

Meanwhile, the Bruins have also recented added a promising young player into the fold, with their drafting of goalie Malcolm Subban in this year’s NHL Draft. While Subban could be years away from producing, the team’s collection of budding stars Tyler Seguin, Brad Marchand and Tuukka Rask could only be the tip of the iceberg for the B’s.

The Patriots aren’t necessarily a “young” team by any means, but with the defense anchored by Jerrod Mayo, Patrick Chung and Devin McCourty, New England certainly looks to have a bright future. Oh, and Rob Gronkowski is only 23.

Of course, the Red Sox have seen up close and personal how much talent they have in the pipeline personified by one Will Middlebrooks. Along with Jose Iglesias and Ryan Lavarnway, the young third baseman is one of the next generation of possible Red Sox stars already making fans take notice.
