As the Thunder and Heat begin their NBA Finals matchup on Tuesday night, both bring intriguing storylines to the battle for basketball's top prize.
The Heat are in their second try for a title with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. The team has weathered plenty of criticism in the two years since the new Big Three came together, and the players will be heavily scrutinized as Miami tries to fulfill expectations by finally getting a championship this time.
But the Heat aren't the only villains in this series. Their opponents, the Oklahoma City Thunder, are also drawing ire from Seattle fans still upset at losing the franchise just as Kevin Durant was drafted and the team started to make its way back from obsolescence. After losing their beloved SuperSonics, Seattle fans now have to deal with the added insult of seeing that team ascend to greatness and possibly win it all.
Of course, the Finals aren't just about teams that fans love to hate. Oklahoma City is playing an exciting brand of basketball with its young lineup, and the Heat showed real growth in overcoming the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals and getting Bosh back into the lineup. Both sides have enough talent in the right places that on-court matchups will be key throughout the series, including the much-anticipated Durant vs. James showdown.
Which team do you side with going into Tuesday night's game?
