Carlos Gomez Mistakenly Circles Bases After Believing Foul Ball Was Home Run, Ends Up Striking Out (Video)

Sometimes, hustle can be a bad thing. Carlos Gomez found that out the hard way on Wednesday, after mistakenly believing that he had hit a home run on what turned out to be a foul ball.

The Milwauke Brewers outfielder received the unfortunate news that his home run wasn't going to count after rounding third, and then promptly struck out on the next pitch.

To his credit, he didn't stand and wait to see if the ball would be fair or foul. Unfortunately, that meant he didn't have a great vantage point when the ball did land — foul. Check out the embarrasing sequence in the video below.
