Jose Canseco won’t be participating in Monday’s MLB Home Run Derby. It’s a good thing, because if he was, you wouldn’t even have to bother watching.
That’s because Canseco would be busy dominating the competition.
On Monday morning, Canseco boldly proclaimed on Twitter that he’d win the MLB Home Run Derby if he was given the chance.
To his credit, Canseco did smack 462 home runs in his career and was one of the game’s premier sluggers in his heyday (even if it came with a little artificial help). Something tells me — perhaps his independent league struggles — that 20 years later, however, he might find it hard to outslug some of today’s best.
But hey, at least he’s confident.
I would win the MLB homerun derby tonight if I was given chance
