Malcolm Subban Embracing Boston Sports, Joins Red Sox Nation (Photo)
Malcolm Subban is a relative newcomer to the Boston sports scene.
The 18-year-old goalie was drafted by the Bruins less than three weeks ago. Still, the 24th overall pick of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft believed he was overdue to show his support for the other pro teams in town, perhaps to try to distance himself from the bleu-blanc-rouge his brother, P.K. Subban, wears while playing defense for the arch-rival Canadiens.
On Wednesday, he rectified the situation with the purchase of a new lid. This one doesn't have the Bruins logo on it like the one he wore when he stood on the podium in Pittsburgh at the draft. Instead, he opted to add a Red Sox cap to his collection, and noted that it was "about time" to get on the Boston bandwagon when he tweeted out a picture of his purchase.
