Bill Cosby Says He Was ‘Glad’ He Could ‘Push’ Ashton Eaton to Gold Medal in London Olympics (Video)

Bill Cosby is proud of his track and field tradition.

Cosby participated in enough disciplines in his track and field days — which once included him captaining a school team — that his later standup routines pillorying the sport were full of insider information. Cosby has since kept up with track and field feats, all the way to this summer's Olympics.

Cosby was one of many track and field enthusiasts watching when Ashton Eaton made history in the decathlon this summer, breaking the world record at the Olympic Trials and then taking gold in London.

And, in true Cosby form, Cosby had something to say about Eaton's accomplishments. Cosby handed out the compliments, but not before chiding Eaton for "breaking his heart" by making Cosby's times look bad — and noting that Cosby himself should get some credit for pushing Eaton to greatness.

Check out Cosby's take on Eaton's performance in the video below.
