Reggie Miller, Shooting Artist Who Scored Eight Points in 18 Seconds in Playoff Game, Celebrates 47th Birthday (Video)

Spike Lee
probably is still in shock at what happened.

In Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference Semifinals, Reggie Miller stunned the New York Knicks by scoring eight points in 18 seconds to give the Indiana Pacers an improbable victory at Madison Square Garden. The sequence even got its own full-length documentary from ESPN.

Moments like that were relatively common during Miller’s 18-year Hall of Fame career, although Miller’s Pacers were never able to get past the Bulls, Knicks or Magic until 2000 and he retired in 2005 without a championship ring. Yet no opponent, especially the Knicks, ever wanted to see the ball in Miller’s hands as the clock wound down.

As Miller celebrates his 47th birthday on Friday, take a look at the defining sequence of Miller’s career in the video below.
