Red Sox Announce All-Fenway Team, Which Truly Encapsulates Franchise’s Illustrious History

Fenway Park’s 100th season hasn’t been perfect, but the celebrations have been unforgettable.

The Red Sox on Wednesday announced the members of the All-Fenway Park Team, and many of those selected were in attendance to celebrate the occasion.

The team consists of players from all different eras in Fenway’s illustrious history, including this year’s team, with Dustin Pedroia and David Ortiz getting nods. Among the other players selected to the All Fenway Park Team were the late Johnny Pesky, NESN’s Jerry Remy, former skipper Terry Francona and the dominant Pedro Martinez.

The All Fenway Park Team, which consists of 40 players and three managers, was voted on by fans, historians, front office staff and the club’s historical and archival consultants.

The breakdown of the three teams was determined by over 120,000 fan votes who selected players for the 40-man roster. Players on the starting team received the most votes, followed by the reserve players and managers. Joe Cronin was the last member of the Red Sox team to hold the title of both player and manager, however, he was elected into the All Fenway Park Team as a manager.
